Montreal, Ironically, is the town where I first gave putting this site together some serious thought: Afterall, here lays a city that reminds me quite a bit of the NYC of old. There were the occasional abandoned buildings downtown, graffiti more or less everywhere, and signs that the city just can't hold the reprobates down, like the punks and anarchists that seemed to have piled up garbage around one office building that they seemed to be holding hostage. Barely a dozen of these anarchists were outside, unchallenged by the police. Reminds me a lot of the Squatter movement on the lower east side. Except here, they were more or less wiped out. Today, nothing like this would stand for a minute in NYC. Nor would the graffiti enforcement be so laxidasical...
